Vice-Chancellor Acharya Sanjay Singh Inspects IET, Pharmacy Lab and ‘Sugandh Path’ at DSMNRU

Lucknow— Acharya Sanjay Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University (DSMNRU), conducted an inspection of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), the Institute of Pharmacy laboratories, and the under-development ‘Sugandh Path’ within the university campus.

During the visit, the Vice-Chancellor reviewed the teaching systems, laboratory infrastructure, availability and utility of equipment, and resources provided to students. He interacted directly with students in classrooms to gather feedback on academic quality, curriculum comprehension, practical training, and faculty guidance. Students shared their experiences related to the learning environment, laboratory facilities, and course structure.

Addressing the students, Acharya Sanjay Singh said the university’s objective is not limited to awarding degrees, but to develop skilled, self-reliant and innovation-ready citizens.

While inspecting the Institute of Pharmacy laboratories, he examined modern equipment, pharmaceutical manufacturing-related experimental setups, and safety standards. He directed officials to ensure regular upgradation of laboratories so that students receive practical training aligned with industry requirements.

The Vice-Chancellor also reviewed the university’s innovative initiative, Sugandh Path, and explained that it is being specially developed to facilitate visually impaired students. The pathway is being landscaped with fragrant flowers and plants, enabling visually challenged students to identify routes between departments through distinct aromas. He described the initiative as a significant step towards establishing the university as a disability-friendly and inclusive education model.

Acharya Sanjay Singh said that Sugandh Path would symbolise independence, confidence and self-reliance for visually impaired students, reaffirming the university’s commitment to providing equal opportunities and facilities to every learner according to their abilities.

The inspection was attended by Registrar Rohit Singh, Prof. Pushpendra Mishra, Dr. Bharat Singh, Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Assistant Registrar Brijendra Singh, along with several university officials, faculty members and staff.
